About Us
Welcome to City International
FOLLOW JESUS. LOVE PEOPLE.
At City International our mission is simple —
Follow Jesus. Love People.
As a church, we exist to create a space where families can meet Jesus, find community, and grow in their faith.
At City International we believe, better is possible.
CityChurch International Älmhult is an extension of
Citykyrkan Älmhult which has a rich history in the Älmhults Kommun.
At City International, all worship services and ministries are in English.
We are a place for the entire family where you’ll find focus for life, hope, friendships, and purpose that changes everything.

Vision
Our vision is to establish and grow an international Christian fellowship
in Älmhult, Sweden with English being the primary language of communication.

We acknowledge that Älmhult has a significant community of people who speak English in their daily lives and need Christian ministry in a language they can easily understand without translation.
City International is here to meet that need. The body of believers assembled for a common purpose can then reach out to the rest of the community.
Mission
At City International our mission is simple - Follow Jesus. Love People.
Saying “yes” to Jesus is the best decision anyone can make. Our heart is to see those who are searching come to Follow Jesus. The next part, Love People, happens through Jesus followers committing to connect with the community, grow in their faith, and serve the church. When we do this together, God gives us hope for the future, focus for our
life today, perspective and purpose, and a community of genuine people who support and invest in one another.
We plan to accomplish this by providing contemporary Christian worship services to the English-speaking community in the Älmhult area. As these services grow, we will also offer midweek services and special ministries for children, youth, and young adults.

This will in turn expand into home groups, discipleship training and evangelistic outreach to the community.
What We Believe
The Bible
The Bible (Old and New Testaments) is divinely inspired of God, the revelation of God toman, infallible, and the authoritative guide for faith and conduct.

The One True God
We believe in the one living and true God, eternally existing in perfect unity as three equally and fully divine Persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Each member of the Godhead, while executing distinct but complementary roles in redemptive history, has precisely the same nature, attributes, and being, and is equally worthy of the same glory and honor and obedience. God is the eternal Creator and Redeemer.
The Deity of Jesus Christ
Jesus is the eternal Son of God, born of a virgin, lived sinlessly, performed miracles,
died for our sins, rose bodily, and is exalted at God’s right hand.

The Fall from Grace
Humans were created good but sinned, resulting in physical and spiritual death (separation from God); therefore, they are in need of salvation.
Salvation
Salvation is only through Jesus'blood. It requires repentance and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and is evidenced inwardly by the Spirit's witness and outwardly by a holy life.

The Ordinances of the Church
Water Baptism – By immersion, symbolizing death and resurrection with Christ.
Holy Communion – The Lord’s Supper, a memorial of Christ's death and a symbol of
fellowship with Him.
The Baptism in the Holy Spirit
All believers can seek the baptism in the Holy Spirit for empowerment and ministry, as a distinct experience after salvation.

The Church and Its Mission
The Church is the body of Christ, called to evangelize, worship, disciple believers, and show God’s love to the world. The baptism in the Holy Spirit enhances worship, service, and spiritual gifts.
Divine Healing
Healing is part of Christ’s atonement and is available to all believers.

Marriage and Family
We believe that the human race was created as male and female by a direct act of God to fully reveal His image and that both male and female united produces life.
All human beings are God’s image bearers, and Scripture designates unborn babies from the moment of conception within their mother’s wombs as children, making the
unborn God’s image bearers, innately possessing supreme value and worth, and as Scripture commands the protection of innocent life. We believe abortion in all its forms is morally unjustified and is the indefensible taking of human life.
Marriage, as revealed in the Bible, is a sacred covenantal union between a man and a woman. Sexual activity is only appropriate within a marriage between one man and one
woman. God disapproves of any form of sexual immorality or gender alteration.
Things to Come
We believe in and expectantly await the glorious, visible, personal, premillennial return of the Lord Jesus Christ. The blessed hope of His return, when believers who have died and those who are alive and remain will be “caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air,” has vital bearing on the personal life, service, and mission of the believer). We believe in the bodily resurrection of both the saved and the lost. The
lost will be raised to judgment and experience eternal wrath in hell. The saved will be raised to eternal joy in the new Heaven and new earth in the manifested presence of
God.
